C0455 - 2004 Suburban 5.3

Hello

I have a 2004 Suburban 5.3 4x4. I installed a new power steering pump, steering gear box and pittman arm. After starting the car and driving for a a bit, the Service Stability light comes on. The OBD shows code C0455 which says to inspect the Steering Wheel Position Senor. I have checked the sensor and it appears to be normal. The terminal is not bent and the connection is good.

I am cautious about replacing this sensor as I did not have this problem before I replace the pump and gearbox, so I fear it may be a red herring.

Any advice is appreciated.

seems to me based on the link below you need to use a TechII or similar scanner that determines the true underlying cause of the code. There is also a service bulletin which applies to your vehicle.

I installed a new power steering sensor and that took care of the Service Stability warning. The link on the trailvoy forum was helpful. There isn't the metal retaining plate on the 2004 Suburban. Instead it has a plastic cover that can be easily pried off.
