hi,
there are a couple of factors i need some input in
first, how does gm's business situation affect a corvette owner?
second, how hard is it to maintain a corvette?

and are there any other constant problems related to owning a corvette?
I think i'll buy one in a couple of years. i want to pay my credit card off and i want to save rainy day money. but is it more affordable than you think? how is the insurance? is car theft a thing you constantly worry about? what should i do right now to make sure i can find the best deal out there? thanks.
i don't want to buy brand new, i'm looking for used deals

The Corvette is a very reliable car, and gets decent fuel economy when driven normally (IE Slow, not racing).

It is ridiculously easy to wear out the tires, especially in the newer ones, so says Car Driver. They also say that the newer ones are easy to fishtail, but if you're using it as a daily driver, and don't use a heavy foot you should be fine.

Also be weary of winter. (Trust me, I have a camaro) winter will be a bitch, but I say go for it.

Also depends on your needs. If you don't need huge luggage capacity and only have one other person to take with you, your fine.

Dont listen to the haters, GM Has some of the finest cars on the road today.

1 a vette is as good as the maintenance it gets
2 you can get a good deal on a vette in the 10 to 20K range
3 many have low miles because they ARE NOT good daily drivers
4 check insurance prices BEFORE you buy...you may be shocked
5 study up...1954 to 1967 are very expensive...good values can be had in the 1973 up ..because the engines are low horsepower smog engines...if ur getting a newer one get one with the LS motor rather than the LT..[which still has some HP]you can get a late 1990S in the 10K range with 100,000K miles or less in good condition
6 there are some great vette books at amazon.com and booka a million...HP book publishers.

just dont get till the economy gets better. that way GM stays alive.

Corvette cost more in insurance and maintain should be easy but still expensive.

it depends how much you are going to drive this car, if it is weekend driver then it should be no problems. if not then idont know
