Would a 383 crate engine fit into a 1981 corvette?

My dad's '81 vette is "gutless" so he's been looking for a new engine. We found one on craigslist and I'm not sure if it would fit. It's a 383 GM crate engine. Would it be at all possible to put this in the car so we can get rid of that god foresaken L-81?

yes, ANY chevy bigblock, or small block will fit

pretty much anyone will work a 383 is just a stroked 350 and just about any 350 fit in a vette

yeah i recommend joining corvetteforum.com those guys will be able to help you alot.. i knew a guy that had an 86 and he put a 454 all aluminum small block chevy in his.. that car ran like a scolded dog
