i found a used headliner for my nova and the seller states it fits a 76 nova custom . will it fit my 78 nova base

Yes the seller I found non eBay wouldn't ship it to me so I have tht site you suggested or eBay funding it new

The abs plastic headliners are not a perfect fit. It will need to be trimmed along all the edges, it may be a little thicker too. Most of the used GM headliners I have found were very brittle. I finally located a good one 2 years ago in a hatchback from San Diego. It was the standard perforated press board. I covered it with headliner fabric that was foam backed before installing it.

So the plastic is a better go than the board. Stock interiors sell the board new.

Stock interiors sells the ABS, no one I know of makes the original press board. Because it comes covered with fabric and foam trimming will be difficult.
