will i have to make any modifications to transmission mount or some sort or will it fit right in previously it was a th350 in it with a 6" tail shaft?also what performance differences will i get will power glide oppose to the th350 and whats better?

It should bolt right in for the most part. I'm not sure if the mounts are the same, or if you have to move the crossmember. You may need a different driveshaft, but one from about a '68 Nova or Camaro with a Powerglide should work.
All early automatics had a 1:1 top gear ratio, so your highway driving shouldn't really be affected. Being a two-speed, acceleration might be a bit slower, and gas mileage a microscopic bit lower. A 'Glide from a six-cylinder car uses a lower first gear, so that could help acceleration a little.
They're both good transmissions. Powerglides have been used a lot in circle track and drag racing. I once saw someone that went to the trouble of putting one behind a Ford engine, so you know there has to be something to them. Carmakers are all getting into 6- and 7-speed automatics now. I'd rather have the simplicity of a 'Glide in the awesomeness of a '77 Nova.
Thanks for reminding me of these songs. The second one's a good theme song for you and your trans swap.

The power glide may not be a good idea..... I switched my TH350 for a powerglide in an old nova once.... Back in the 80's.... I don't recall if I needed an adapter to get it to fit in the chassis..... Anyways.... it worked great for city driving which is what I did mostly.... But out on the highway the fastest the thing would go without winding the engine up was about 60 to 65 MPH.... I live in a huge city and never used that car for any long distance driving and only got on the highway for trips across town..... For daily tooling around town it was fine..... Your going to have to do some homework on what your rear axle ratio is.... It might be geared wrong for the power band that powerglide likes to work in......
