Why Is my 2001 chevy malibu overheating?

I recently had my engine replace, and about 2 months later Its overheating. Ive been adding water to cool the engine down. Also I have noticed that when I add water to cool the car down and remove the bleeding needle it no longer over heats but when I open the hood I find water traces everywhere and I also hear some weird sqeeking noise when ever the car is not accelerating ..
