Basically, i just purchased a silverado has like 28,000 miles on it but idk if this is normal 1-4 gears have great horsepower and get up and go but once i go into 5th gear theres no power, in order to accelerate i have to floor it and even then the rpms hardly move and the speedometer moves very slow.

Let me know if this is normal or maybe a sign of the clutch wearing.

engine is a 4.3 liter v6 btw
Yes it's the smallest engine there is for the truck but it's also the smallest model,

Standard cab, short box.

I am not complaining i just want to know if i should be worried?
In addition to the other comments I'll mention that your truck might have been ordered with a lower than standard rear end. It seems likely since someone who bought a V6 was probably more concerned about mileage than performance. The VIN will tell you. I believe 3.7 was standard but 3.4 and 3.2 were optional

Can you please elaborate on what this means? and how i can look up what came with the truck with the vin number?

Thanks

1 you got a big truck 6 K pounds
2 you got the smallest engine they make
3 5th gear is overdrive
4 so dont complain..just down shift
