Which is better for my C5 Corvette, a supercharger or turbos? Why?

If turbos are the way to go.... Does the professional installation of turbos generally more expensive than installation of a supercharger?

i think supercharger but i come from old school fire breathing engines a supercharger may take more HP but HP is not what moves you its torque and a supercharger blows your torque off the charts example: you can have 1 million HP and 3lbs. of torque vs. 100 HP with 12lbs. of torque which would win the 12lbs. of torque would all day all HP really does i tell you how fast you can make that torque to get from point A to point B

1slowfive has a good answer but there is more to it than what he said. A supercharger has the power right now as it does not have to wind up so you get rid of the turbo lag however it does use a lot of horsepower (but a Jimmy 471 looks GREAT! sticking thru the hood). A turbo uses less horsepower & fuel but it also sounds good with the whine or the high rpms it turns. Either way you will get more power which is what Tim the Toolman says. ha ha

I like TURBO`s it`s free HP and Tones of TQ,and as we all know free is good as for what everyone is saying that you want TQ, is somewhat right but in your case the HP is what your looking for,the TQ gets you moving and the HP gives you the speed. look at some DYNO charts and look at the HP vs TQ the HP happens much higher in the RPM,as for the stock C-5 the TQ comes around 3600rpm for its best and the best HP is around 6500rpm

Sorry but the dude above me is completely wrong. A turbo is ran by exhaust gases which are waste from the engine. A supercharger is ran by a belt system which eats up power. Turbos are far more efficient because the doesnt require much power to run them. Do a google search on turbo efficiency, you will be surpised. I cant remember the exact figure but i do believe a supercharger eats about 40% more power then a turbo does

Turbos are better imho because you can run as much or more boost than a supercharger with NO Parasitic Drag on the engine.

Its safer gets better mpgs and could get the same power as twin turbs
