Where's the brake light switch located on 1992 Chevy Silverado?

I need to check the brake light switch on my 1992 Chevy Silverado pickup and find out if it's what's causing my brake lights to not come on. So where is it located?

Switch is located near the top of the lever part of the brake peddle

Leonard A hit it on the nose. It is a bit hard to get off, though. There is a rubber plug that holds it in place. If you do it yourself, keep up with that. I know at least, on a 1999 Suburban, that switch also controls your ability to slide the shifter.
