I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado with the 4.8 liter engine. I know that the horsepower and torque is close to that of the 5.3 but what is the difference when their peaks come on? Is the torque in the 5.3 at a significant lower rpm? Where can I find an actual chart that compares the two engines on a curve type graph? Also, how can I bump up my torque without voiding the warranty? I've tried aftermarket exhaust, and it actually made things worse.

the 5.3 and 4.8 almost produce the same amount of horsepower but the 5.3 produces a good bit more torque.. their is little you can really do to produce noticable amounts of torque.. see with the exhaust you relieved back pressure which removes torque... back pressure and vacuum make more torque..

but.. you can go to GMPP and order new heads, cam, intake manifold headers.. and could make quite a bit of power and torque but at a not so nice price.. it would still be under warranty as well
