I recently blew my motor in a 2006 corvette Z06. The car only has 15,000 miles but the 3 year warranty has recently expired. The engine broke down because of a manufacturing flaw but GM has refused to take any responsibility for it nor have they agreed to make any other kind of consideration such as discounts on parts or service, etc... The cost of replacing this motor range from $24,000-$30,000 including labor.

I'm looking at having a custom built engine to replace the junk GM sold me. I'm sure just about anyone can make a better engine then GM however I would like to look at some options before making a decision such as any posable warranties, horse power, components and reliability.
Jegs is great and they do have the stock GM 7.0 for $14,500 but that engine only made it 15,000 miles last time so I would like to get something better this time around.
Thanks for the link. The car was a lot of fun until it broke. The LS7 engine maybe the best thing GM ever made but that's not saying much. This car also had a Axel go out because of a manufacturing flaw so people can draw their own conclusions. I'm mostly mad that GM wont stand behind their flagship car when it one has a catastrophic brake down due to the cheep rod bolt they used.
