the most i would ever tow would be two jet skis. what gets better fuel economy???what is better vehicle at everything???

Even thought evryone is saying buy the avalanche, i would say buy the Ridgeline. I say this because for what you intend to to I think an avalanche would be a bit overkill. The ridgeline would be an easier car to live with daily because it will drive more like a car and it could still tow more than just two jetskis. The ridgeline was chosen as Motor Trends 2006 truck of the year. Also, most importantly, the Ridgeline will be much cheaper than an equally equiped Avalanche.

Jake, your making this hard because both are excellent, what are your needs? if you tow the avalanche is much better, some day you might have to tow something heavy , and its nice that the Chevy will tow 3000 more pounds.fuel economy there very close, the new redesigned 2007 avalanche, is much better looking, and way more fuel efficient than the older models. you get stump pulling V8 power with v6 fuel economy, the Honda is a little underpowered with its smaller v6, and has a shorter bed in back, and off road the Chevy is much better , Honda claims 23-25 mpg highway, but i know two people who own them and they get about 20-21 highway mpg and 14-16 city mpg.that's not good for a v6 and much lighter vehicle, also the Chevy has more room inside. and a better ride with a longer wheel base . I own both vehicles a 2005 Honda ex accord and a 2006 Chevy HD 2500 Lt3 duramax lbz diesel, i love them both, I give the edge to the new Chevy.

The Avalanche is crap compared to the Honda. Chevy must have comissioned the JD Power study; there's no other way to explain how any Chevy could beat any Honda.

JD Power ratings are anything but objective and JD Power refuse to reveal their methods or identify the customer that actually paid for the review. Ask yourself why you've never seen an independant JD Power survey or study. It's because they don't exist!

Reality notwithstanding with the 2 previous answers...

The Avalanche is all new for 2007 and gets best in class fuel economy. GM has knocked off Honda in JD Powers customer satisfaction ratings (The recently released J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Study demonstrated that GM was the highest ranking manufacturer, with a score of 891, replacing Honda. All GM divisions outperformed the industry average in the study.)

It is at least worth a look at the Avalanche - I think the Honda looks like crap, personally. Test drive them both, and see what you think!

Further down someone says that the Ridgeline is cheaper. I priced them both, it seems to me the real story is the other way around...
