What would be the best cold air intake for my 1996 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.7l 350?

Got a new engine put in back in 2006, its so its carbureted.

the best one is k& n but your not going to gain that much from any of them because the amount of fuel that the engine receives is limited by the injectors so putting more air in to it isn't going to make it get more fuel,it worked on the carbureted engines but not on the fuel injection ones, plus your going to get a sound that most people dislike on it,good luck

most cold air intake kits for most vehicles are a waste of time and money. and the added sound they can generate is a bad thing.

most all vehicles have the air filter located in one of the front corners and the air it intakes comes from outside, its a cold air intake already.
most vehicles have the hose leading from the throttle body to the air filter having ribbed design, or a chamber off to the side. as valves open air begins to rush through that hose, and then the vavle slams shut in the air's face, the air needs somewhere to go. the ribbings and/or chambers give the air somewhere to go, without them you get the sound of air being forced backwards out of the intake.

you could get just as much power by simply installing a high flow filter, such as k&n makes, in place of the normal air filter in your existing cold air sucking filter box for less money with less effort.

Not to put down anyone that posted above me but K&N filters are not worth the price they cost. Everyone thinks K&N when they think filters. So of course the answer you always get is K&N and that is wrong.

Find you a Volant intake system. They block more heat from coming into the filter than the K&N system. Also a little cheaper on the price. Just better in my opinion.
