What steering wheel hand position is recommended for a 2005 Corvette?

I am taking my Georgia license test tomorrow, and the manual says to drive at 8 and 4, or to refer to the owners manual to see what it recommends. i am not comfortable using 8 and 4, and would rather use 10 and 2, but i do not want to fail my drivers test.
 
10 and 2. you cant fail is you have both hands on top of the wheel. testers look down on people who steer wiht the bottom of the steering wheel. when you have your hands down there you have less control of the car. also letting go of the steering wheel and driving with one hand is a big noo nooooo
 
They probably don't know the recommended hand position on your vette so 10 and 2 is probably fine.
