What size front speakers fit in chevy cavalier 2001? ?

Also Do new back speakers replacing stock need to be connected to an amplifier or do only subwoffers need to be connected to amp?

Your cavalier uses 4x6 speakers in the front doors, but adapters are available that will allow you to put 5.25 or some 6.5 speakers in that location. Metra's part number for the adapter is 82-3300.

You don't have to use an amplifier for replacement speakers, unless they're 2-ohm speakers. However, you can usually improve the sound quality if you use an amp.

front is 4x6. and no they don't need connected to an amplifier. but you can run an amp. they make 4 channel amps. it runs the front speakers and the rear. or you could run a 2 channel amp and just run the 2 back 6x9's. but if i were you i would just get a good aftermarket cd player. and put in a set of sub woofers. if you wanted to run another amp in the future most good brand players have pre-outs for frond and rear channel amps. hope this helps and good luck.
