The COPO ZL-1 cars were the quickest production Camaro's ever built, but you are correct on the production of 69, and I believe that they were available in any '69 Camaro color code. They were definitely plain looking. Fred Gibb, the man responsible for the creation of the ZL-1, did only sell 13 of the original 50 cars delivered to his dealership in '68, but GM reallocated the remaining cars to other dealers and they were sold from 1969-on. A few of them languished in dealer showrooms for years after that. You have to remember that the sticker price on the ZL-1 was $7,200 in 1968, $1,800 more than a 427/435 Corvette.
