...bad choice its an option? Does it get okay gas mileage and run okay. I know it is a 2006 model.

Bad, because it doesn't have power ANYTHING (windows, locks, etc.) and it is small in the inside (can barely fit 5 adults comfortably). Also, my friends who rented it couldn't find out how to tell whether or not they were low on gas. Overall, they didn't like their rental experience with it. Upgrade, if you can. Many car rental places, particularly now, will allow you to upgrade for free. However, the gas mileage is okay on it.'

Also, according to Wikipedia:

Althogh the Cobalt is considered light years ahead of the Cavalier, it is still under heavy fire because of numb electric steering and relatively boring interior design. Another major complaint was the relatively high body roll. However it is still rated higher than it's cousin car, the Saturn Ion Quad Coupe.

from what i know about driving them they are pretty nice cars,, decent gas mileage....i do believe they are a nicer replacement for the caviler...great choice for a rental car... as long as its been taken care of....

I don't know about the car but I hope you are prepared for LA traffic!! Nothin in the world like the 405!!!
