I am going to do be changing a water pump on a Chevy Malibu which has the v6 3.1 liter engine. I know the 4 cylinder Malibus are near impossible for a backyard mechanic, but I am assuming the V6 has the pump in the front of the engine and should be fairly easy to change. But I am having trouble finding any info online about it. Does anyone have any pics for reference or maybe a link to a howto with pics? Even if I could just see a pic of where it's located, I will be able to tell from that if I can do it or not. I haven't seen the car and it's not at my house, which is why I'm trying to find pics. Also on the v6, the pump is ran by a belt, not the timing chain, correct? Because I don't want to do anything with the timing. I'm pretty sure timing doesn't need to be touched, as I called and got an estimate and they didn't say anything about the timing chain. Because usually when you remove a chain, you need to replace it because it's already stretched out. Anyways, any info is appreciated. If you, yourself personally, have done this repair, and can just answer my questions then that would be great as well. Thanks.
