Vortec 5.7 cam advance question

Hi. First time poster here. First time rebuilding a vortec, too.
98 5.7 Suburban 4x4 1500
Bought the truck with a grenaded motor & am rebuilding an engine from a 99 Suburban. Completely stock rebuild with hyper pistons. But I wanted a stout timing chain, so I ordered the Cloyes True Street Roller, hoping it will serve the engine well for a long time with no hassles.
After I got the chain and gears on, I couldn't help notice how loose this chain is, especially compared to any SBC I have ever installed a new chainset on. Is this normal for a Vortec?

Also, I'm not degreeing the cam (can't find my wheel). But I figured that since this set comes with a 3 keyway crank gear that I would advance the cam by 2 degrees for a little more usable torque. Is this going to be a problem with the computer control, or should I just pull it back off and install it straight up?

One more thing. The Fel-Pro timing cover set (TCS46093) that's listed for this truck comes with the wrong crank seal. The OD is too large for the so-called non-reusable-but-now-reusable timing cover. It's always something...

Looking at the internet there seems to be a lot of comment on chain slack on the Vortec. First thing I would make sure is that you got the correct chain and gears. There is some slack expected. I would just install the cam straight up, you dont want to have to go back in a second time.
