I've got an '87 GMC Suburban, 2WD with the 350 and 700R4. The fuel supply line is 3/8" with M16-1.5 connectors with the proprietary GM TBI o-ring seat.

The line rusted out, and I bought a kit from RockAuto to replace it. The kit is identical to the OEM parts — except the line is in sections so it'd fit in a shorter box.

The problem is the manufacturer left out the M16-1.5 union to join the aft sections. A double-ended M16-1.5 union with the GM TBI seats is not a common part. But the fuel filter has those connections.

My question is, can I use a second fuel filter to join the supply line's two aft sections? Should I drill a hole through the inside to relieve the extra pressure?

Thanks in advance.

sounds like a creative way to solve the problem and should be fine as long as the drilled filter is totally cleaned of any debris.

maybe too restrictive, you can try and then do a fuel pressure test

The manufacturer overnighted the missing union the free of charge, so I never had to try the drilled fuel filter trick. Fineline of Nova Scotia, Canada.

great better solution than the two filters
