Truck shut down

I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 LT that I bought 2 weeks ago. Coming to a stop light today the truck jerked badly and then shut completely down. I had to put the truck in park and restart it. Any ideas on what that could be would be very helpful thanks again.

Do you have a check engine light on?
Is the truck but up to date on maintenance of plugs and filters based on mileage as listed in the owners manual?
