Tail gate , door ajar ,dead wiper motor after rain

After a week of rain it all sort of started to die .

I went with the dirty switches and cleaned them but no change . Even with switch connector wires jumped shorted or open no display change . Wiper motor seems dead / no fuses burnt out .

Maybe a tailgate cable connector , body control box plug ( still haven't found either ) 2002 110 K miles . Thanks

have you checked for broken wires in the conduit connecting the tailgate to the body?

No , wondering if anyone had history with this . I may by pass the Ajar warning circuit as you cant dim it while night driving . wonder if there is splice or plug at the rear upper brake light . Hate to rip things out for nothing .
Being the wiper died , seems a loose connection of multi circuit issue .
