I have the option to buy a 2006 Ford F-150 that has 38,000 miles on it for $24,000 or a 2009 Chevy Silverado for $36,600. After factoring in interest, I will pay $31,000 for the Ford or $38,000 for the Chevy. So the total price difference is only $7000. I am torn between which truck to choose from. Would it be better to buy new or save 7000 over 5 years on the used truck?
As requested. Both are 4x4's. The 2006 is a King Ranch loaded with leather and with the 5.4L engine. The 2009 Silverado is an LT, but it is loaded with leather and the 5.3L engine.

if you are just going to drive it get a chevy. the ride is so much better

if you are going to use it for hauling or towing get a ford the ride sucks but it will handle the load better

basically if you can function with a car drive a chevy truck

if you need a truck get a ford

go with the chevy. ford sucks. you will probably save money in the long run by not having to do repairs to the POS ford.

both trucks are good vehicles. at least your not considering a dodge lol. if the seven thousand dollars isnt going to hurt you too bad and you can afford it i would go with the chevy. the new ones come with a 100,000 mile warranty. when you buy used you never know what kind troubles you may run into. there could be a bad reason someone traded it in you never know. but if your looking to save the seven grand then you cant go wrong with the ford either. i would just check to see if the dealer offers an extended warranty and deffinately consider purchasing it. if you plan on keeping the truck for a while it will probably be worth it.

Explain more about the options. Is either 4x4? Single, extended, or double cab? Engine size...and what not.
