I drive a 2005 Chevy Cobalt, and every few months, when I turn on the one of the indicators, it starts ticking faster than usual. When this happens, I notice that when you look on the outside, the backlight doesn't blink, but the headlight does. Why does this happen?
Well, the bulb gets changed, and after a few months, the indicator acts up again.

This is the bulb blowing out the reason it blinks faster is the timing is off due to the other circuit not blinking. You may have a bad back light you might want to replace the whole taillight assembly.

well it either means that your blub for that turn singnal is going out or that the fuse is blow. if you change the blub it should fix it.
