Hey there,
As I'm posting this, I feel this is more of a general car question but I would still very much appreciate any help. I've tried to research it on my own and had no luck.
I'm looking to buy a 2004 Suburban from a friend. He wants to sell it to me for the lowest KBB value but it has a door that needs to be replaced and the window on the driver's side is stuck. Is it reasonable for me to ask for the lowest KBB value minus the cost of repairs?

Thanks for your input

did you read the description of the lowest price range at KBB?
is the vehicle mechanically in the condition that KBB describes as being FAIR?
have your priced the cost of a door from a local junkyard?
if the only thing wrong with the vehicle is those two body related issues and the rest of the vehicle is in very good condition and the mileage is low for a 2004 I do not think you can further deduct for the cost of the body repair. If the vehicle has other issues that would change things.
The other thing to keep in mind is how good a friend this is, it may be better to find a vehicle elsewhere rather than sour a friendship.

Thanks for the quick reply. Those are the only things that are wrong with the car. I had considered the potential impact on the friendship and decided I would like to pay the price he is asking for rather than further bargain but my wife feels like we would be paying too much so I think I will look elsewhere.

Thanks again for the direction.

good move, happy wife happy life
