2000 Chevy Malibu. 180K miles.

The car loses power and RPM's when I accelerate. It kinda rocks back and forth like it isn't getting fuel correctly or something. This is VERY noticeable when I accelerate to go up an incline/hill. The check engine light comes on every once and a while. When I first got the car, it was always on until i unplugged the battery. Can I get some advice?

Sounds Like A Fuel Related Problem, Get The Check Engine Light Diagnosed And That Will Probally Tell You The Issue.

I once had the same problem with my S10 pickup (long ago). It turned out that the fuel injector cleaner I used had disintegrated the fuel filter, part of it was clogging the fuel line when enough fuel flowed. If the check engine light is on, get the code. Some auto parts stores will read them for free (in case you didn;t know.)
