Yesterday my dad and I were driving my 1969 Nova and on the way back to my house my front disc brakes locked up and my transmission got stuck in 2nd gear. The brakes were recently done and this was the third time driving the car after we converted the front to disc. A thing I noticed early on the drive was that the transmission shifted harder than it has before (shifted hard when we bought it but this was the worst). I know I've seen some people have a similar problem but they can't get into reverse but I can. What could be the problem/s?

for the brakes I would check the clearance between the rod coming from the booster to the back of the master cylinder piston. it sounds like you dont have enough clearance.
did you check the cable or shift rods for a problem?
