I've been chasing this issue for a while, and I'm not sure where to go next.

Some background:
The fuel pump went out in the car last September and it was replaced. Shortly there after, the check engine light came on and we replaced the gas cap which seemed to fix the issue short term. The light came on again in October. The car passed the emissions test in November. The check engine light hasn't affected how the car has run at all, so I haven't addressed the issue since. I'm now looking to sell the vehicle and would like to fix the issue assuming it doesn't break the bank.

I took the Malibu to an AutoZone and had it scanned. I attached the results from the scan. The code that came up doesn't seem to be a very common code.

Code: P0240
Description: The PCM has determined that the input voltage for boost pressure sensor "B" is out of range for the current engine operation conditions.

Any help is much appreciated.

If you car doesnt have a turbocharger that code doesnt apply to your car.

Right...that's what I don't get. I cleared the code once and it came back. I had feedback at one point that it might be the catalytic converter, but I'm not sure that's the case.

Only other thing I can think of is that the code is actually referencing the amount of voltage going through the vehicle and that the alternator or voltage regulator might be bad. I have had to change the passenger side turn signal light a few times because the bulb goes out. When I replace it the connector is melted a little bit making me think that it could be getting too much voltage.

I would either go back and have it scanned again or find some place else to scan it. Cannt see how that code applies to your car, voltage isnt going to cause the computer to throw a code like that. What year car and what engine?

Have it rescanned preferrably at another store.

Is it possible that the charcoal canister has become saturated with gasoline? IDK, I'm just curious. Seems like I read something like that somewhere else several months ago. But I've had two brain surgeries and my memory isn't worth a crap anymore.
