Oil change for a Chevy Malibu?

I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu. I know generally you are supposed to change the oil every 3 months or 3000 miles. I have gone over both, but my oil life display says I am at 57% oil life. My husband says I need to get it changed, he gets it done religiously every 3 months on his truck.
Does my car know what it needs? Should I get it changed now, or wait until the display tells me to?

You should go get it changed.

Chevy Malibu's are not so great cars. They have ALOT of recalls. And thier onboard computers are always going haywire.

So get it changed. Make sure they do it right also, someone chipped my oversized bolt so now i do it myself.
