New to me 94 Cavalier

Hi my name is John, and this is the first Chevy I've owned. It's a 1994 Cavalier that before me was a 1-owner and has only done 82,000 miles. It runs and drives awesome, and for it's age still looks pretty sharp. It was a little old lady who owned it before me and she got in an accident that really messed up the left quarter panel. I have a replacement quarter from a blue Sunbird that came with the car. It has been sitting for about 3 years.

I'm wondering what to do with the damage. I think it's to much to just pull out the dent and bondo it. It was cut so the door strike would match back up. The door doesn't rattle and shuts just fine, but it's quite unsightly. I only paid $600 for it and even with the damage I'm happy with it. The only rust anywhere on the car is the 2 spots by the dent.

My original idea was to pull the quarter skin off the spare panel and swap them, but I don't know if that's practical. Any ideas? I've always liked this gen but it's so rare to find ones where I live that haven't rusted to bits or are totally ratted out. In fact, just seeing this gen is pretty rare.

Unless you are skilled in body work I would start saving up to have it done professionally.
