I have a '99 K1500 Suburban, 5.7L, with 144,000 miles.
It has developed a coolant leak. The leak is on the left side tank where what I assume a transmission cooler line enters the radiator. There is what looks like a sheet metal castle nut which holds the cooler line fitting in the tank.
The leak appears to be coming between the fitting and the plastic tank. Leak rate sitting still is about one drip per second
Questions:
1. Anyone else have a leak like this and is it repairable? I've heard these plastic tank radiators are a throw-away item.
2. Can anyone recommend a good but low cost replacement radiator? Something like Rock Auto?
Thanks
Jim
