need help with 2007 chevy malibu?

ok...i might have a water pump leak...(but that doesnt really matter) car will run for five minuts and then shuts off and then wont restart for a while...what can this problem be? please answer me mechanic....

Is the coolant low? If so fill it up then go to a shop and or auto parts store and get the cooling system pressure tested or borrow a pressure tester and do it yourself. Sorry to break the bad news to you but, if you already think you have a leaking water pump you may have already cooked and or blown your engine. And yes it does matter.
