My steering wheel in my 08 chevy cobalt won't turn?

I don't know what happened I've had this car for over a year and today the steering wheel became really hard to turn and this light that says "service airbag" keeps coming on. What could it be?

Something else could be. It may have lost it's program. My 05 Malibu had steering problems and the dealer had to reinstall the program in the computer

its an 08. you have a warranty. bring it to the dealership.


anyways, sounds like a fuse or a sensor. most of the newer chevy cars use electric assist steering instead of 'power' steering (which runs off of a pump filled with fluid).


anyways, probably just a fuse...but its covered under warranty....put in any new stereo stuff l8ly? new cd deck? anything that would include you touching wires under the dash or hood?
