My speedometer isn't working on my 2005 chevy silverado?

I just bought a used 2005 Chevy Silverado and my speedometer is going alot higher than i am actually going and i have no warranty. Is there any way i can fix it???

First, you need to know what is wrong with it. I would guess one of two things. Either the tire size was changed and the vehicle was not calibrated for them, or you have a faulty vehicle speed sensor. these aren't the only possibilities, but the more likely of them.

Either tires, gears in the rear, or a faulty speed sensor in the transmission.
