It depends on a few factors, your age, do you have children, you obviously live in Canada Ayy?? LOL Anyways, I am assuming you are in your early to mid 20's and by the way you are talking you must be a female. The Malibu with lower miles but insurance cost are higher, also its about time that major maintenance is about due, tires, brakes, tune up, etc. BUT, Fuel economy is different with the truck. There is more to look at than what vehicle is better. Your father is giving you a HUGE gift, I would listen to what he really wants. Maybe he wants the Malibu but is hoping you take the truck? He knows you better than any of us, listen to him and his reasoning. Most of all what I would do is make a list of PRO and CONS for each vehicle and be honest and think about different uses of each vehcile, friends, typical driving habits, only you know the who, what, where, when and why's of your personal needs. Then ask yourself what vehicle fits your personality best. As I tell my customers, I can give you a hell of a deal on a car but if you hate getting into it and being in it, the payment sucks. But if you LOVE the vehicle a little higher payment is worth every penny.

If you are looking strictly at what is the best financially decision? Then I would say you are immature and only looking to take advantage of your fathers generousity. Not saying you are, only making a statement.

The truck and if you take care of it,it will run another 100,000 or more.
