As soon as i start the engine there is a screeching noise that continues until i turn off the engine. I had the serpentine belt replaced originally because it already looked pretty bad and I didn't ask at the time because I was out the door, but none of the mechanics even mentioned the sound. I've had the issue before and it just went away after a few days. It just started recently so I don't know how much of a problem there may be.

It sounds a tad bit metallic in nature, but I am not 100% sure.

Idler pulley bearing could be your culprit also, I've seen one screech on an older F-150... Start with the pulley... cheapest of them all, then work your way to the other suggestions.

It sounds like it could be the alternator. It will make that noise when the diodes are blown, unplug the alternator and see if the noise goes away.
If you have AC it could also be the clutch.

Start the car, open the hood and get a good listen. You should be able to find the noise. If it sounds more metallic, there's a chance your pulleys are rubbing. Once you're sure where it's coming from, shut off the engine and do a little touch search. You'll know right away if there's been any contact, that piece will be hot. Look for any shiny spots on the fronts or edges of the pulleys, that's clear indication of unusual wear or rubbing.
