the bulbs. What else am I missing? We changed the fuses and replaced the bulbs for the backup lights. They still aren't working I have no problems shifting into reverse, the lights just don't come on. I need to correct this as soon as possible because I will be taking my driving test in this truck next month. Please help!

Also the suburbans and pickups were famous for the circuit boards going bad in the tail lamps.
They are replaceable separately.

Easy enough to check, Block the wheels so it can't roll. Turn on the key and put it into reverse.
Unplug the harness from the lamp. Check the light green wire at the tail lights for power. Not the dark green, that's a turn signal.

If you have power there, Plug the harness back in and check the lamp socket. No power means bad circuit board.
