having difficulty placing the hood...? I have set it so that the gaps on the side and back are perfect. The problem I am having is that when I set it down (I have not latch it yet for fear of krinkling the hood) the hood seems to teeter. It seems as though the teetering is caused byt he hinges. The thing is, I have moved the hinges all the way up, all the way down, up in front and down in back and vice versa...nothing has helped! Has anyone ran into this before?

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. You said the gaps are fine at the sides and back, so the hood should close fine. If the hinges seem to be moving wrong, try spraying some WD-40 or white lithium grease on the pivot points. One hinge may be binding.

I have also had trouble with weak hinge springs causing one hinge to move differently than the other. Unless you bought new hinges and springs, they are 42 years old, and possibly worn out.

take two people to hold hood up and line holes if one puts back to where marks are on hood it some clsoe ok but one can squat down and look to see if its lined up really not that hard to do loosen bolts lower hood look see what it need to line up with latch i alway look at where blots made marks on hood and put bolts back to them mark and hood always will close the sam eway
