Lumina 2008

Hi,
I own a lumina 2008. Recently I noticed that when I restart the vehicle soon after being stopped,some kind of fan starts working (assuming it to be a fan). As soon as I starts driving and picks up speed, this thing turns off and no more sound can be heard. Is this normal? I checked coolant and there is no drop in coolant level or leaks anywhere.

Did you open the hood and check if it is the engine fan?
Is the coolant level correct when completely cold?
Does the temperature gauge read in normal area when fully warmed up?

I have not opened the hood to check it.
Yes, the coolant level is normal when completely cold and the temperature gauge is also normal when completely warm.
