Lowering a 2003 silverado

new to the forum and looking for help on the best route of lowering a 2003 silverado 1500 base. i plan on putting 20's on it so im thinking a 4" drop will be fine but not sure the best route that will also maintain a smooth ride. not really a car savy guy, mainly an airplane guy. any help would be great. thanks

Thanks. Got a buddy that can do the c notch and help make it stronger. Now just gotta find some reasonably priced wheels and tires
