Lost 06 Chevy Cobalt Car keys. CAr is locked. no spare key?

Hello sir,
I have a couple of questions and I will really really appreicate if you could answer them.....

My car is locked and I have no spare key. If I order this key, would I have to do anything more than get the key cut through the dealer?

As far as programming is concerned, do you think I will still be able to program the key from the instructions given that my car is locked?


Will I be able to unlock my car with the CUT key? By the way my alarm sounds if the car is unlocked with the key. How would you suggest I turn the alarm off??

I know it's too many questions but your help will be much appreciated.

You'll need to go into the dealership. When you bought the car, you should have been given a small piece of metal, with a number etched into it. It's not your VIN, but just a few digits. That code will help them cut the perfect key for your car. If you do not have that, bring in registration, ID, and probably insurance card just to be safe.
