Lift Kit question for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500?

My buddy has a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500, he wants at least 4 inches of lift on his truck but is trying to avoid paying an arm and a leg for a suspension lift. I was wondering f you could put say a 3 inch body lift on top of a 2.5 inch leveling kit. Or if you could get a 3 inch body lift, then put 3 inch blocks in the back and torsion keys in the front on top of the body lift to make it higher. Any advice or experience would help, thanks.
