That was the Corvette that Car and Driver took to Alaska. They needed extra gas and a spare tire thus the roof mount. The front was for the Yukon mountains. Yes they drove a Vette from Ann Harbor MI to Alaska.

Considering what some of the other cars on that site look like this Corvette is gorgeous! I wouldnt go that route but still overall far from the worst.

Especially considering why the modifications were made... as zora said, it was driven from MI to Alaska. Solid trip
