I'm not too concerned with how fast it goes (I'm more of a cruiser) I just love how sexy corvettes look, and overall awesome factor.

If and when I go see the car in person (and get it inspected), how much should I offer if I like everything and it passes inspection with flying colors??

For starters I love Corvettes However I would really have to think very hard before I paid $5,000.00 for a car that is painted in cheapo flat black paint. If some one is going to paint there car like that I am going to really question how well the have treated ans maintained the rest of the car.

As far as what it is worth that really depends on were you are at. location can make a huge difference in the price of a car. especially a older car. just look around and compare prices.

Well first off great choice of car! Second, if this car is in the condition you say it is, that's a pretty good deal. If you are going to get it inspected, I would find some corvette enthusiasts in your area to do it. Search for a local corvette club or classic car types that would know someone who knows corvettes in and out. They would be able to tell you exactly what condition this car is in and how much it's worth. I would also try to see if the engine is the original that was rebuilt or if it was a replacement. If its the original numbers-matching engine, that will make it worth more especially if you plan on doing a full restoration of it. It sounds like the owner took really good care of it but some things aren't what they seem. I would also ask to see any receipts they may have and I would do a carfax report on it just to make sure the title is clean. Remember if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. omg i love corvettes 2!!!!!!
and yeah i'd buy that for 5,000 it's a classic, and corvettes are usually expensive
just a little cleaning up to do and it'll look like a doll.

PS:test drive it, find a reason hes selling it, and tell him to put it on the jack and make 100% sure there is no rust
