We want to buy a little bit bigger family vehicle and really wonder if the Suburban is worth the 40k+ sticker price. We have 4 kids and are on the road every weekend with soccer, swimming or tae kwon do tournaments. So having the extra room would be desirable but want to have a good vehicle.
We currently have a 2004 Honda Odyssey and we are a little disappointed in the vehicle. It is extremely loud on the highway and the engine has developed a leak (which Honda already fixed once!).
At any rate, the real question is what makes the Suburban worth 40k and is it really worth it?
Just a note... the only comparable non-GM vehicle is the Expedition EL (extra-long). It has a base price of about the same as the Suburban (36k) and comes comparably equipped...
Used is an option and will save me $$$ but most of the used large SUVs have over 40k miles on it and are still in the high 20s to low 30s.
So do you buy the NEW $40k vehicle or $28k used with 40k miles on it?
