Is a Ferrari faster than a Corvette? They look the same.?

yes a Ferrari is faster than a corvette. A corvette has a sometimes fast pick up but upon a residual demand for power lacks a constant power supply upon demand. I owned a corvette.

And why would looks have anything to do with speed?

It also depends on what Ferrari and what Corvette you are comparing.

It's not like they all have the same level of performance....

A 1980's Ferrari GTO wouldn't keep up remotely with a new Corvette Z06.

And a 1955 Corvette would be destroyed by a Ferrari F50.

Etc and so forth.

It all depends on the model of the Corvette, the new Corvette in stock form will do 205mph, which is faster than most Ferrari's. There are Corvettes available that will even go faster. The older Z06's will top out around 198 mph.

The Enzo is probably the fastest Ferrari and it goes approximate 225 mph. Most of the Ferrari line up are topping out at less than 200mph. Some Ferrari models top out in the 180's.

Here's a video of a Corvette that can go faster in a quarter mile that a Enzo can go on top end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V6msows8d0 it's officially timed at over 226mph and you can buy one any time you want from Lingenfelter! Best of all it will cost 10 times less than an Enzo!
