I heard they have bad brakes but its a cute car but looks crammed in the back for three full grown kids. Whats your opinion?
One kid is 11 one kid is 13 who s pumped and the other is 15

I have many happy HHR customers. That being said most do not have a family of 5. You could do five if they were little kids but after a while they will be to big. You would be better of with an Impala or Malibu. I plan on replacing my Tracker with an HHR in the future.

havent hard about brakes but i think you will probably need an equinox or even the traverse

They are crappy cars based on the Chevy Cobalt. This is what consumer reports has to say about the 2009 mode..."The HHR shares the same platform as the Chevrolet Cobalt. It has easy cabin access and a flexible cargo space, with split rear seats that fold to create a generous and flat load floor. The ride is comfortable enough, and handling is secure but not agile. The HHR feels lethargic because of the tall gearing and the slow response of its automatic. We got 23 mpg overall with the noisy 2.4-liter engine. Visibility suffers because of the short windows and thick pillars, and interior quality is unimpressive. The rear-wiper switch is poorly placed. Thankfully, the window controls have been moved to the doors and all models have standard stability control.

Highs: Access, cargo flexibility, standard ESC.
Lows: Visibility, controls, driving position, fuel economy, turning circle".

One last mention...Only 63% of owners said that they would buy another HHR. That's significantly lower than average (73%).

for 2 adults and 2 kids, then it might be ok, but for 5 adults, its not that good. if you like that kind of car, then look at the nissan murano or nissan rogue. also, if you want a car with good space, then look at a ford escape or a hyndai sante fe (7 seater).
