ok so heres the story im 17 with a clean driving record and had a license for about a year now. I usually drive a Mercedes e63 to school since that is the only car available for me to drive to school. i drive about 27 miles a day on that car so i am doing some driving but i want a " regular car" So my question is, would a 2002 z06 be safe for me? i know it has power but its not as much as an e63 comparing hp and weight of both cars. I would like a car that has power when i need it but is nice enough for me to actually not drive it like its a bucket of a car. My mom wants to know if its a safe car because i will be in college next year and will be driving more heavily on the weekends. please no stupid answers. thanks

ok im not paying for insurance as it will go under either my moms or dads name and they both have clean records. its around 20k with 17k miles which means its virtually brand new and will last me a long time...
i am a responsible driver i would just like a car that has some nice sound quality and a car thats appealing to me...
im not a big fan of stomping on it either, and gas is not a big thing for me as i will get a part time job to cope with it.
i live in California and would be going to school in the bay area.
ALSO YOU GUYS ARE FORGETTING I DRIVE AN E63 ALMOST DAILY AROUND 27 MILES WHICH IS HIGHER TO INSURE THAN A VETTE AND IS WORSE ON GAS.
