In Gran Turismo 5 I upgraded a 69' Corvette to 452HP but it is topping out at 130MPH?

In the tuning area it says the top speed is 220MPH. I know I am not going to go 220MPH but I know it can go alot faster than 130MPH. What am I missing? Do I need to change the gear ratios or something?
I only added the 5speed transmission. Not the fully adjustable one. Is that going to mess me up?

I had a similar problem with the Dodge Charger. I also boght the 5 speed transmission. The only solution is to buy the adjustable transmission..
