I'm selling my classic corvette ! What about the test driver?

I'm offering my classic corvette for sale, and concerned about buyers who will test drive it. Will the individuals' auto insurance cover me if they drive my car and have a fender bender? What do I need to ask for as proof of insurance? The car is extremely valuable. Thanks.

Well the age old problem only allow a test drive after you take them out and show the controls and the way to drive it and ride along. No there insurance will not cover the car if they total it your insurance needs to be in effect. Also I would not allow a solo test drive until money changes hands. And you can get it off of your car policy and have the license plates you paid for in your hands. Each state is different about license plate laws but getting a ticket from some one you sold the car to for running a red light?

if they want assurance the car drives well then you should drive it, your insurance is accountable as long as it is in your name.
